Munich|Berlin, November 11, 2022 — For the 20th time, Deloitte has honored the fastest growing technology companies in Germany this year. A total of 50 startups in the fields of biotechnology & pharmaceuticals, energy technology, communication, digital content, media & entertainment, hardware, medical technology, software and fintech receive the Fast 50 Award. The basis for the evaluation by an expert jury is the total growth of revenues over the past four years (2018-2021). The candidates must have achieved sales of at least EUR 1 million in the 2021 financial year.
As in previous years, the majority of the Fast 50 award winners come from software development, this year around half (48%). Some distance behind are companies that deal with digital content (14%) and energy technology (12%).

With a view to the focal points of the award-winning companies, Salzmann adds: “At the moment, the topics that move the economy and society the most are dominating: artificial intelligence, resilience and sustainability. We see this above all in the winners who are developing offers for clean or green tech.”
