The Virtual (ACoP11) Conference Experience

The Virtual (ACoP11) Conference Experience

The first virtual American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP) from 9-13 November managed to satisfy both, esqLABS scientific curiosity and business development.

The diversity of scientific topics and the showcase of excellence from participants around the globe helped us scout for new developments in the quantitative pharmacology field and exchange in numerous discussions.

We were happy to give back to the community by again sponsoring ACoP as an exhibitor, and we were happy to welcome many participants at our digital booth.

The diversity of scientific topics and the showcase of excellence from participants around the globe helped us scout for new developments on the quantitative pharmacology field and exchange in numerous discussions. We were happy to give back to the community by again sponsoring ACoP as exhibitor, and we were happy to welcome many participants at our digital booth.

The esqLABS Team joined the conference with our CEO and lead scientist Stephan Schaller, who volunteered as session chair for integrated QSP and PBPK modeling.

Here a collaboration from esqLABS with Genentech was presented on how PBPK-based QSP platforms can help develop a mechanistic understanding for the distribution, organ exposure and related effect of bispecific antibodies.

It was concluded that the mechanistic customized PBPK model accounts for the unique biodistribution properties of TDB and can assists in the discovery (e.g. design of drug-specific parameters, understanding proof of concept) and development (e.g. design of dosing regimen) of TDBs.

Of course, what would be a conference without posters? esqLABS came with two. Our new esqLABS member Frederico Severino Martins prepared a poster on absorption modeling to assess the failing bioequivalence of ziprasidone capsules. Furthermore, Marco Albrecht presented a poster on how  volume therapy can affect (volume of) distribution in PBPK models to account for changes on exposure and to optimize and drug dosing in intensive care settings. The second work was invited for submission to the open-access journal CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology (PSP).

We are also honored that Marco Albrecht was spotlighted as  a member of the month for the Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP).

esqLABS very much enjoyed the conference and we are looking forward to the conferences in 2021 and especially ACoP 12 in Maryland in October.
